The Butler Corporation Announces a New Manufacturer's Representative for The Southeastern United States

We are pleased to announce, Tommy Overstreet from Myrtle Beach , South Carolina as our new Manufacturer's Representative for the states of VA,WV,NC,SC,GA,FL and AL. Tommy began his career in 1974 as a Cleaning Technician and furthered his career by owning and operating a successful carpet cleaning and restoration business.
He has many years of knowledge and experience in all aspects of our industry. Tommy will be pleased to provide you with a personal demonstration of the Butler System or to answer any industry related questions you may have.

New 10 Year Warranty

Beginning September 1, 2009 every new Butler System will be warranted for 10 years. Click here to learn more.

The Butler System's 10-year warranty is provided at no additional cost, with no limitation on machine hours and may be transferred at no additional charge. Warranty coverage includes all major components: the Shaft-Drive System, High Pressure Pump, Detergent Injection System, Vacuum/Blower, Heat Exchanger, Fresh Water Holding Tank, Recovery Tank, Vacuum Hose Reel, Pressure Hose Reel, Holders, Racks, Trays and Shelving, etc.

Everyone who purchases a new Butler System, regardless of the vehicle in which it is installed and regardless of the options, receives “The Butler Extended 10-Year Warranty.” The extended warranty applies to a new Butler System originally purchased from The Butler Corporation and provides coverage to specified components of the Butler System for Limited, Basic and Extended Periods.

Fuel Prices, Consumption and Taxes

Gas and Diesel Fueled Engines


Price: with the ever changing price of fuel we have listed some important information and tax savings you may want to consider when purchasing the Butler System or as a Butler System and van owner.

Consumption: Fuel consumption is estimated to be 1-1/4 to 1-3/4 gallons of fuel per hour with the Butler System in operation. However, consumption may vary due to the quality of fuel, the blending of fuel in various regions of the country, summer and winter fuel blends, presence and/or volume of oxygenates and additives, fuel temperatures, octane/cetane ratings, altitude, climate, ambient temperature, condition of the vehicle’s engine and the general condition of the Butler System.

Fuel economy estimates for commercial vans and trucks are not provided by the EPA. However, customers who have purchased 2008 and newer models are reporting fuel mileage improvements over previous model year(s).  Fuel consumption is dependent, in addition to the variables listed above, on the payload, driving conditions, terrain and driving habits of the operator.

Taxes: The cost of fuel is a 100% tax deductible expense, when your van or truck is used for business. Also, a federal fuel tax credit of $.183 per gallon for gasoline and $.243 for diesel fuel (refer to IRS Form 8849, Schedule 1) may be claimed when a commercial vehicle is used off-highway for business, such as, when the Butler System is in operation. A state fuel tax credit/deduction may also be claimed, in most states, when the vehicle is used off-highway for business.

Information on federal fuel tax credits and refunds can be obtained from IRS Publication 510. Consult your state taxing authority for exact information regarding your particular state’s relevant refunds, credits or deductions. Seek the advice of a tax advisor for verification and additional information.

We are pleased that Ralph Gerhards, owner of Priority Response Marketing in Ottawa, Ontario, is our exclusive importer of the Butler System in Canada. Ralph also inventories Butler Maximum cleaning products, parts and accessories.

For those who are not familiar with Ralph, he previously owned Cleanco, Inc. (a manufacturer of carpet and fabric cleaning equipment) and operated two successful carpet cleaning businesses in Ottawa. He sold his company to Fibreclean Supplies and helped establish the eastern Canadian market for Fibreclean. He later became the National Program Manager for Disaster Restoration Services for Sears Canada.

Ralph has an extensive knowledge in the cleaning and disaster restoration business and was a certified instructor for the IICRC and is a certified IICRC Master Cleaning Technician, Master Restoration Technician and he is certified in mold remediation.

The Butler Corporation offers The Butler Maximum Heat Exchange System!

The Butler Maximum Heat Exchange System's revolutionary design allows the Butler System to operate at water temperatures up to 240F* without compromising the simplicity, quality and reliability that has distinguished the Butler System since 1980.

The Butler Maximum Heat Exchange System captures heat from the van's engine coolant and vacuum/blower exhaust without bypassing water or adding any other controls or fluids. The Butler Maximum Heat Exchange System is offered as an option on new Butler Systems.

*Water temperatures can exceed 250F.

IMPORTANT Freeze Damage Information

If your van cannot be parked in a heated garage during the winter months and the temperature is expected to be below freezing (32°F), it is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT to WINTERIZE your Butler System. The Butler Corporation’s warranty does not cover freeze damage. If freeze precautions are not taken, you are risking expensive damage to the Butler System. With a few basic procedures, freeze damage can be avoided.

If the Butler System has experienced a freezing situation anywhere within its components, there is a possibility that other unforeseen complications may appear sometime in the future. Replacing the part or parts that were obviously damaged from freezing will solve the immediate problem. However, it is unseen damage that may cause one or more of the System’s components to fail at any time. Exposing any mechanical component to freezing will put excessive stress on that component and may cause distortion and premature part failure. This distortion may not become evident for months. In fact, a part may fail in the middle of the summer, and its cause is the direct result of freezing during the past winter.

The Butler System Owners Manual includes a section that provides the required procedures to winterize the Butler System in an effective, safe, and environmentally sound manner.
